The visa is the result of a joint initiative by heads of
state of the Commonwealth countries to promote travel in the region and create
opportunities for tourists to explore the diversity of East Africa.
Who is qualified?
Any foreigner who wants to visit at the same time the
Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Uganda for
tourism purposes. The visa will be issued at any Kenyan, Ugandan and Rwandan
consulates, immigration offices or online where applicable.
Visa Type: The East Africa Tourist Visa is a multiple entry
visa and will be valid for 90 days.
How to apply for East Africa Visa:
Applications for the visa will be submitted at any consular
post of the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of
Uganda, at the respective immigration offices or online where applicable.
Kenya:

for an East African Tourist Visa by visiting https://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html. Alternatively,

Rwanda:
The Rwanda Online Visa Application System is the
application portal for individuals who have already begun their travel to
Rwanda. Choose "East Africa Tourist Visa" under "Type of
Visa." Get in touch with the Rwandan embassy in your area for further
details.
Uganda:
For those starting their journey in Uganda, you can
find information on the visa application process at the consular section of
your local Ugandan embassy or on its website.
Dependents: All people must apply in their own way.
Travel Document: Any valid approved travel document is valid
for a minimum of 6 months.
Application Period: 2 working days.
Visa Fee: 100 USD
VISA validity: 90 days.
Single or multiple entries: Multiple entries.
Without asking for or paying for a second visa, the holder
of an East African tourist visa will enter two additional countries from the
nation that issued the first visa.
The holder will also be allowed to migrate from the Republic
of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Uganda; and return without
having to pay for another visa. This will only work within 90 days.
Visas issued by different countries can only be used for
that country
Activation or Inactivity: Activation is not allowed
Visa Extension: East African tourist visa will not be
extended.
Typical Requirements for East Africa visa:
One light-colored passport-sized photograph with white
background recently taken without glasses, hat and scurf; (the photograph
should be attached to the application form using a glue stick. Stitching and
cropping the photograph on the application form is not recommended).
Completed application form.
The visa application letter is written by the visa issuing
authority of the country concerned.
